Gaeilge go Deo - Irish Forever

Gaeilge go Deo Irish Language courses follow the syllabus of TEG (Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge) and the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).

TEG is an internationally recognized Irish Language Proficiency examination that assesses candidates’ skills in reading, writing, listening, and conversation.

The first TEG examination is TEG A1, for which the recommended number of study/hours learning is 80-100 hours.

If you’d like to learn more about TEG or get a general idea of your level in the language, try TEG’s online language test linked below.

I have been taking Irish language lessons with Jacinta for almost a year now. This couldn’t be a more incredible experience. Being able to learn the language of my ancestors, including vocabulary, conversation, written word, and reading, has gone far more smoothly than I could have expected.

I wanted more than anything to be able to understand how the combination of all of these seemingly random letters could make this beautiful language. Jacinta has made this very easy. Our weekly calls have allowed me to not only understand and speak Gaeilge, but to begin to read and write it, as well.

Jacinta brings the language to life. And, through her patient and thorough working through of the materials, I feel like I finally have an understanding of my ancestral language.

If you are interested in learning beautiful Gaeilge, I would highly recommend Jacinta!

Hi, I’m Jacinta

,

I was born and raised in Ireland and started learning Irish in school at the age of 4. My third and fourth-grade teacher, Sr. Lelia (a native speaker from Co. Kerry) inspired my lifelong love of the language.

I went on to graduate college with a degree in Education and Irish and taught Elementary school including Irish in Ireland before moving to the United States.

I spent 30+ years teaching Elementary and Junior High in Oregon. I’ve been involved with the Irish Language Community in Portland for the last 20+ years, teaching at Marylhurst’s Lá na Gaeilge, Féile Portland and attending Sean Nós NW. I've taught private Irish Language classes and currently teach Irish online. I’ve taken classes through Ireland’s Ranganna.ie and most recently participated in 10 weeks live online class with Gaelchultúr.

Irish is a beautiful language, let me help you learn to speak it with confidence.

"I really enjoy Irish/Gaeilge classes with Jacinta. She grew up in Ireland and has first-hand knowledge of the culture and language, as well as years of experience as a professional educator with a degree in Education from NUI, The National University of Ireland.

She does a great job of making the material accessible to various levels including total beginners and offers fun and engaging learning activities . Jacinta excels at personalizing the classes in response to feedback and student questions. Her classes have helped me develop my conversational skills and vocabulary, along with learning more about Irish song and culture.

She utilizes a variety of learning tools and easy to use apps. I was inspired to listen to CDs, podcasts and television programs in Irish. Jacinta was always there for guidance and support, as well as offering online classes when the need arose.".
